It is so important for people to take breaks from work or life in general to stay focused, healthy and happy in general. If you're worried that it may affect your work, then just take a little break. I'm not talking about a months break, just one day or if it's a 9-5 job, take a 10 minute break every few hours. What's more important, you or your job?
WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE A BREAK ONCE IN A WHILE
It isn't healthy for anyone to work continuously for a long period of time without taking a few small breaks. People question how they will be able to get back into after having a break but just taking this time of about 10/15 minutes (not too long that it ends up being the rest of the day) will keep yourself from overworking and becoming exhausted. Sometimes a little snack will give you the energy to keep going.
Breaks stop you from overstepping it, and making you stressed out. They relieve that stress. When you are stressed, it brings a negative behaviour to your work which can affect the work you are doing at the time.
If your job is of a creative kind (such as running a blog), you may be lost with ideas. So take a break to find that inspiration that's missing. A change of scene or doing a different task can help achieve this.
You need to take some time out in your life to re-discover or to keep discovering yourself. People need to recognise what they like and what needs changing, and to put this into practise by taking time and space away from the work zone.
WHAT TO DO DURING A BREAK
- Go outside and take a walk. Wander and explore.
- Eat. Have a snack to get some of that energy you had before back.
- Play. Whack a game out and have a little fun to distract you away from work.
- Learn something new. You have some time, start to learn that thing you've been wanting to learn for a while now.
- Take some time to yourself. You are continuously learning new things about yourself, but you're stopping yourself doing that but not taking those important breaks.
- Book a holiday. Go away for a weekend or start planning your summer holiday.
How often do you take time out for yourself?
