Improving my Blog Photography

Apart from my travel posts, I never really put much effort into my photography. I would take about 30 photos in one day and use them for all my lifestyle posts hoping no one would realise. Recently, I have decided to become less lazy and make my photographs a little more appealing, not just on my blog but also my Instagram. I am starting to create a theme where they all look very bright and have a sharp contrast to make items in the photos stand out. I am going to explain how I have improved my photographs; it's quite simple but I thought certain processes may help yours.

Tackling University, a Job and Blogging

I properly started blogging weekly when I moved to China. Before that, it was once in a blue moon so I didn't really count it as 'blogging'. Once I had moved to China, I had university everyday for at least 4 hours, I started a teaching job which I did twice a week for 2 hours each time (plus an hour for travelling to the apartment) and I 'attempted' to blog weekly. As well as having all of these to do weekly, I also had my social life which, being in a new city and a massive city like Shanghai, was very hectic as there is so much to see and do.

My Favourite Blog Scheduling APPs

Blog promotion is very important to stay interacted with your audience, and on social media, and to up those statistics. It is very hard for some people to stay focused on this aspect of blogging, me being one of them, so I found out about 6 months ago that there were APPS/websites to help you with this.
Many of these APPS/websites have been created to help boost your promoting/advertising game with your website/blog. I am still on the hunt to find more after trying some but these are the ones I use on a regular basis.

Do I Enjoy Blogging?

We all have those days where we don't want to think about the work we have to do which is lying on our desks, where we want to do nothing but relax, not even look at a computer or TV screen. I've had a few of these thoughts in my head during the last few weeks of 2016. Life has caught up with me and I have faded away from the blogging scene. However, the new year has suddenly given me a boost to carry on writing and blogging because I know that deep down I really enjoy it. But sometimes you do have to ask the question of 'do I even enjoy blogging?'

Why It's Important to Have a Break

My life here in China is a bit hectic; fitting in university, work, my sociable life and relaxing (not that I get much of it). It can sometimes get a bit too much. I have occasionally took short breaks during the last year so I don't end up overworking myself and spend time focusing on my life. And sometimes this is what everyone needs.

Compared to my life in England, life here in China is very full-on. Having university everyday 9/10am to 2pm takes a lot of energy out of you and no one really prepare you for it. I actually question how I did this for 13 years of my life?! I got to the point last week when I couldn't remember when the last time I had more than an hour in my room during the day. I don't spend much time in my room anyway because it's not the nicest of places and I am normally out doing stuff until late evening.

What Have I Gained from Blogging?

Isn't it quite amazing how much you can learn and get from just writing about what happens in your life or giving tips or reviews, the list goes on. Blogging is something I love to do, sometimes prioritise it over university work which is bad. I have learnt so much since starting up my blog. A few I thought I'd share if you are thinking of starting one.

How to Keep your Blog Organised?

It has taken a while to finally get to a comfortable stage with blogging where I feel so much more relaxed with organisation behind my blog posts; writing them, scheduling them, publishing them and promoting them, and keeping on top of all of this constantly.

I have picked up a few pointers which hopefully will help you be that little bit more organised with blogging. They have definitely helped me feel a lot more organised.

Why I Started a Blog

It's been precisely a year this month when I created my blog. However, I didn't start posting regularly until May this year, when I travelled in America. I thought this was a good starting point to get my blog out into the world as I was posting daily about my travelling adventures; a subject which a very popular nowadays. It also gave me topics to write about so I wouldn't have to be brainstorming a load of ideas beforehand; I would literally write a post and publish it straight after unlike now.
