What to do in Siem Reap, Cambodia

Whether you are there for a few days or a week, there is plenty of things to get yourself involved in around Siem Reap. Being the home to the famous Angkor Wat, Siem Reap is a very popular destination for everyone. Listed below are only a few highlights which you must experience during your time here.

Catch the sunset at Angkor Wat
A highlight for everyone in Siem Reap is seeing the beautiful and famous Angkor Wat, and what's better than waking up at 4am in time to catch the sun rise over it. Book a tuk tuk for the early hours of the next day, grab tickets and enjoy the scenery and historic attraction. Your trip would not be worth it without seeing Angkor Wat. Even the crowds will not put you off!

Grab a bargain at the street markets
Take a reminder of Cambodia back home with you from the chaotic street market located in the centre of the city. It is a little overwhelming at first, especially if you haven't experienced a similar street market before, but get your haggling skills out, and grab a few good bargains.

Take a visit round the Angkor Silk Farm
For those arts and crafts lovers, this is quite a good place to find out how a lot of products sold in the markets around Cambodia are made. Also, it's a good time to buy REAL SILK. It is claimed that a lot of the silk products in the street markets are all real but this can often be a false statement. If you want real, handmade silk that is made in front of your eyes, this is the place to get it.

Enjoy a relaxing, CHEAP massage or a slightly ticklish fish spa
Massages on offer for as little as $2 or $3?! It would be silly not to. Take the morning or afternoon off and relax into a soothing massage.

Be daring and try their street food
Have a little sneak peak at the range of street food which Siem Reap has to offer in the day time. Some may be a little risky but what's the fun in not trying it? Or go sweet and try their fried ice cream rolls, known to be delicious and made right in front of your eyes!

Have a delicious meal and a few cocktails down Pub Street
Walk down the street in the evening where the night atmosphere comes to life, the tourists comes together, and have a tasty meal from one of the many restaurants on offer. Either before or after, don't forget to treat yourself to your favourite cocktail, they must call it Pub Street for a reason!

Have you been to Siem Reap before? Any other attractions you recommend?
